Finding #5: Digital Literacy Helps!
It is 21st century now. Technology, digital tools, and multi-media are parts of both our student's and our lives, especially for adolescents who are born in a world surrounded by internet, digital devices and quickly emerging and developing technologies. The world in their eyes is different than the world in our eyes when we were teenagers. It is not possible or rational to block our students from using those devices and tools. On the other hand, been capable of using these devices and tools is one of the essential skills for 21st century learners and citizens. What is better is these digital devices and technology can help us motivate and engage students in interactive, interesting and strategy-based activities to help them attain deeper and better understanding of what they are reading.

Teacher as Leaders
Our students are born in an age of technology as the digital natives. To be their teacher, we cannot and should not block them from the digital tools and technology. On the contrary, we should manipulate the tools and technology to help us educate students equip them with 21st century skills better.
